This is the “heaviest” of the “Lough Style Special” series, although its physical weight is lower than the one of the 6 in an equal build.
It does have a more powerful and faster action, however ; for distance work in lakes and reservoirs, it will handle all sorts of lines including sinkers in the Di8-class to transport big streamers and boobies.
Nevertheless does this rod have a very pleasing flex to it which allows for finer work using tippet sizes in sizes 0,18 mm à 0,22 mm.
Using those strategies a fast intermediate, a hover or an S3 line work great on this rod.

My advice
This is your “bad weather” rod when fishing “Lough Style” and sinking lines are the order when the fish sit under the thermocline and need to be reached with a streamer.
It also doubles as a great salmon and sea trout single hander in Brittany, Normandy, Ireland, Wales... (did I mention steelhead ?). It is also a great rod to fish for asp, big perch, European walleye, black bass as well as carp of all persuasions and mullet during their annual upriver migration. (Loire, Garonne, Odet, etc.)

The rod builder’s note
“So the “7” is a bit less in physical weight in an identical build than the “6”, but generates more speed with heavier lines, both overhead and with waterborne casts. Ten-foot-7-weight, the ultimate bigger sea trout and summer steelhead rod and definitely THE reservoir all-rounder, even with dense sinkers.”
