European sea bass fly fishing rods

Fly fishing for sea bass is attracting more and more enthusiasts throughout France and Europe.

The choice of a fly rod is often crucial. How do you choose your first fly rod? Which brand? What line weight to choose?

Line Weight:

Rods for fly fishing for seabass range in weight from 7- to 10-ply.

Rods for lines #7 and #8 are perfect for sight fishing in estuaries or light fishing in shallow areas.

Rods for #8 lines often prove to be the all-rounders for sea bass anglers, both for shrimps and crabs and for light streamers.

Rods for #9 lines are perfect for heavier streamers such as clouser minnows and the use of sinking lines for prospecting deep areas, both from the shore and from a boat.

Finally, the #10 line weight rods are suitable for large flies and very windy conditions or tropical fishing.
