Escargot flottant (Floating Snail) FMF

Escargot flottant (Floating Snail) FMF

Freshwater snails (limnae, planorbes, physids and other aquatic gastropods) can sometimes form an important part of the diet of trout in lakes, reservoirs and fisheries.

Snails can sometimes float just under the surface and drift on the current or with the wind, if you see trout rising and no insects are hatching try one of these

Fishing tips:
Use a floating fly line with a floating polyleader and a long, not too fine tip, preferably in fluorocarbon for greater discretion. Pass the fly through a waterproofing product to increase the fly's visibility and floatability, especially in rough waters. The take is straightforward and all you have to do is lift the rod gently to strike.
