Advice for use
This is a pattern to be cast with rods of 10 to 12 weight and above, saltwater lines or shooting taper specially designed for medium to heavy saltwater fly fishing, whether floating, intermediate or sinking.
What makes it attractive, beyond its jerky swimming action due to the lightly weighted design at the head, is its great imitativeness, its iridescent finish and its “soft” touch which facilitates swallowing.
Attach a looped knot to the end of the leader to improve its action (Perfection loop & Homer Rhode knots).
Ideally a Rio/SA type fluorocarbon SW tippet from 20lbs/30 lbs or associated to a Rio/SA type fluorocarbon shock tippet (60lbs to 100lbs) or Rio type nylon Hard Mono shock tippet for toothy species (Tuna, West African Spanish Mackerel, African Red snapper, GT, Jacks, Tarpons, etc.)

The line should be retrieved rod tip underwater, with long pulls on the line, so as to make the fly glide.
Sometimes the two-handed “rolly polly” retrieve with the rod under the arm is the most effective way to trigger the attack of marine predators.
