“The Léguer” 8'6”#6, named after my beloved river, is a powerful, fast-acting rod specially designed for aggressive fishing in tight quarters on medium to large rivers to cast bulky flies such as terrestrial insect imitations: grasshoppers, crickets, beetles, Fat Albert, etc.

More and more of our wild trout, sedentary or migratory, are interested in exogenous food sources (due to the scarcity of aquatic insects).
Accurate at short, medium and long distance, its length is ideal to face most situations in wooded rivers on which the line must not evolve too high during vertical casts and to deliver flies with a strong air resistance in few strokes.
It allows you to lengthen if necessary in a limited number of strokes and allows you to serenely target big and wary fish that once hooked will do everything possible to fool you: multi-directional rushes, jumps and other tricks.

It is also a very suitable rod for dry or nymph fishing on small bodies of water or reservoirs like fisheries where it is not always possible to go everywhere with a 10' and more reservoir rod when operating from the shore. It casts all types of stillwater lines up to S5 without any problem.

The small fighting butt makes it easy to "work" the biggest fish.

Its power and length allow you to keep control even when using thin tippets (0.14 mm).

With the option of being delivered with two identical tips, it has exceptional qualities that should delight lovers of beautiful, efficient and reliable equipment.

My advice
This versatile rod is best used with WF or TT lines, as it loads quickly and allows you to reach your target in a limited number of strokes, an undeniable asset in the realm of wild trout, allergic to long back and forward movements of a line in the air.
Very light, it deserves to be equipped with an ultra light wide arbor reel with a powerful drag.
It is able to control all salmonids weighing up to 12 lbs (brown trout, rainbow trout, sea trout, grilse) but also beautiful cyprinids (barbel, chub, asp...)
