Florian Drag Piebald Sedge

It has often proven to be a miracle pattern during my guiding trips, whether for wild brown trout (in Brittany and elsewhere) or grayling

Carefully crafted by professional fly tier Florian from the finest natural materials sourced from his own farm:
• Natural lacquered feather for the wings, topped with some fibers of Pardo Flor de Escoba rooster. 
• Tying thread for the body
• Dubbing made from black hare’s ear fur for the collar
• Brown thread for the head
• Tied on a chemically sharpened carbon hook with superior point

Tips for use: If I could only have 3 or 4 flies from Florian in my box, this would undoubtedly be one of my essentials.

With its wing made from a natural lacquered feather topped by some Pardo flor de Escoba rooster and its black hare’s ear dubbing collar, it fishes low while remaining highly visible.

In sizes #12 & 14, it is a basic sedge for evening hatch and exploring the edge currents and all areas immediately downstream from calmer zones, where larvae live.
An excellent fly for fishing the water and spots, on the edges or in front of rocks.

In size #16, it is the ideal model for fooling fish on the lookout for a bite close to the edges in the middle of the day in shaded areas, especially in summer when water levels drop and fishing conditions become difficult.

Recommended tippet diameters: ø 0.20mm to ø 0.12 mm depending on the size of the fly.
