Olive Emerger EM4 Florian

Florian's Olive Emerger EM4 is one of the best imitations of the subimagos (duns) of small grey olive-bodied mayflies and especially baetidae (Baetis rhodani, scambus, vernus...) whether spring or autumn, the latter often being darker.

It is also a good imitation of the lake olives: Cloeon simile and dipterum.

Its upright CDC wing is a perfect imitation of the silhouette of small drifting "sailboats".

Carefully crafted by professional fly tier Florian using the finest natural materials from his own farm:
• Upright wing in natural grey CDC
•Thorax and collar: hare's ear dubbing.
• Realistic body in olive-dyed peacock quill
• Pardo rooster back feather fibers tail.
• Tied on a chemically sharpened carbon hook with an incomparable sharpness.

How to use:
If I only had 3 or 4 Florian flies in my box, this would undoubtedly be one of my must-haves.

A basic fly when trout and grayling are selective on surface baetidae subimagos (duns), at the start and end of the season.
The same applies when lake olives are emerging.

With its natural dark grey CDC fibre upright wing, hare's hair collar and thorax, well speckled pardo tail and ultra-realistic annulated quill abdomen, it fishes in the film while remaining highly visible.

In sizes #18 and #20, this is one of the best grayling dry fly I know.

Recommended tippet diameters: ø 0.12 to ø 0.08 mm depending on the size of the fly.
