Florian Drag Cannelle (Cinnamon) Caddis

The Florian Cannelle (Cinnamon) Sedge is one of the most effective adult caddis fly imitations on the market, with its wing made from woodcock cul feathers.
A real magnet for trout and grayling.

It represents Limnephilus lunatus, the Cinnamon Sedge, but it is widely appreciated when there are hatches of light-colored caddisflies on the calmest parts of streams.

This is truly the essential sedge imitation.

In sizes #16 and #18, it is the ideal pattern for fooling fish looking for a bite close to the edge in the middle of the day in shaded areas.

In size #14, it is a basic pattern for evening rise and fishing in running water.

It has often proven to be a miracle pattern during my guiding trips, whether for wild brown trout (in Brittany and elsewhere) or grayling

Carefully crafted by professional fly tier Florian from the finest natural materials sourced from his own farm:
• Natural CDC shank feathers for the wings
• Clear natural quill for the body
• Dubbing made from hare’ear fur for the collar
• Orange thread for the head
• Tied on a chemically sharpened carbon hook with superior point

Tips for use: If I could only have 3 or 4 flies from Florian in my box, this would undoubtedly be one of my essentials.

With its wing made from woodcock Uropygial gland tiny greasy feathers (same as CDC from duck) and its hare’s ear dubbing collar, it fishes low while remaining highly visible.

In size #14, it is a basic sedge for evening hatch and exploring the edge currents and all areas immediately downstream from calmer zones, where larvae live.
An excellent fly for fishing the water and spots, on the edges or in front of rocks.

In sizes #16 and #18, it is the ideal model for fooling fish on the lookout for a bite close to the edges in the middle of the day in shaded areas, especially in summer when water levels drop and fishing conditions become difficult.

Recommended tippet diameters: ø 0.16 to ø 0.10 mm depending on the size of the fly.
