Expert advice:
Use a short leader and a sinking streamer tip line or a density compensated sinking line like for better strike detection and hook set up.

Use a terminal fluorocarbon tippet with a diameter between 0.25 mm and 0.30 mm depending on the size of the fish you are targeting.

For sharp-toothed critters like pike, use a shock tippet like Scientific Anglers Absolute Fluorocarbon Shock 40lbs or a nylon-coated wire like RIO Powerflex Wire Bite Tippet that is super easy to tie a knot
