Devaux Prof K sedge/terrestrial
The Prof K or Professionnelle is a classic fly from the Devaux collection.
With its two dark red hackle wings positioned in a V shape, its plump body made from trimmed hackle and its hackle collar, it imitates both a beetle and a sedge (trichoptera).
This is a very effective pattern on small wooded streams where trout are on the lookout for insects that have fallen from trees or are emerging from the bottom of the river.
It is also effective on ants fallouts
Make sure to waterproof it well with a product such as High N Dry Liquid Floatant, Tiemco Dry Dip Super or Tiemco Shimazaki Dry-Shake Liquid.
