Mayfly Nymph Weighted

This pattern is based on Richard Walker's famous Mayfly Nymph. A very useful point pattern at Mayfly time.

Weighted fly.

During the Mayflies (Ephemera danica) season, this nymph is used on the point with a team of Mayflies wets on the droppers.

The Mayfly Nymph Weighted also works in rivers during the Mayfly emergence.

How to use
This nymph is to be slowly retrieved with a figure of eight motion when the lake surface is calm on the emergence areas of the mayfly, i.e. the sandy-muddy bottoms in which the danica larvae live and burrow.
In wavy conditions, the fly cast retrieve has to me more actively retrieved and the lift is the crucial moment as the nymph rises towards the surface.
